Hello Elizabeth Township Lifesavers,
We are looking forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday April 9, 2025 in the Elizabeth Township Municipal Building Chambers Room from 12:30 pm to 6 pm for our next blood drive!
We have 10 appointments so far so please make an appointment even if you’re not sure what time you are available to come. The staffing director sends staff based on the number of appts. Vitalant will take you ahead of a walk-in with an appt no matter what time you come.
If you donated whole blood on or before February 12, 2025 or if you donated double reds on or before December 18, 2024 you are eligible to donate 4-9-25.
Our last two Blood Drives were on February 2 and September 6.

You need to click on all four boxes at the beginning in order to start
You will need to wait till the day of the drive to answer the questions or you will need to answer them again at the drive:
National Donate Life Month in April serves as a reminder that blood transfusions can play a vital role in organ and marrow transplants.
Patients underwent a new annual record of more than 48,000 organ transplants in the U.S. last year, according to the United Network for Organ Sharing. That’s an average of 132 a day.
Doctors may transfuse 20 or more units of blood in a single transplant surgery.
One patient who had rare liver failure from food poisoning needed blood donations before, during and after liver transplant surgery.
The need for blood is constant, especially for type O blood
Type O blood helps the most patients, particularly in emergencies because of its wide compatibility.
Platelets help blood clot and stop bleeding. They must be used within a week of donation and go most often to help cancer patients.
Blood must be on the shelf before it’s needed. What’s donated today is ready to help patients in as little as a couple of days.
Donors who give blood with Vitalant in April could win big!
Donors who give April 1-30 will automatically be entered to win groceries for a year in the Full Hearts, Full Carts Grocery Giveaway. Two will win a $10,000 prepaid gift card.
April is National Volunteer Month and donating blood is just one way to volunteer your time supporting patients’ blood needs.
There’s no waiting period to donate blood after receiving a COVID vaccine or flu shot.
