Statement on the Forward Township Police Department

Elizabeth Township has been approached to provide law enforcement services to the residents of Forward Township beginning on April 12, 2022. During these difficult times, Elizabeth Township is committed to creating a cooperative relationship with the surrounding communities in the area to identify and solve the problems that impact all residents. In that regard, Elizabeth Township has had a previously established cooperative relationship with Forward Township which has allowed the officers of the Elizabeth Township Police Department to provide a high level of law enforcement services to this entire region. Therefore, as a way of expanding this community-based policing approach, the Elizabeth Township Police Department and the Township Commissioners are excited about the opportunity to work for and with the people of Forward Township. These services will be provided through a joint municipal agreement and will enable both communities to receive the highest quality police protection services for their residents.
