CHIEF KEN HONICK

CHIEF HONICK'S BACKGROUND

Experienced in Private, Local, and Federal Law Enforcement, Chief Honick embarked on his law enforcement career in 1998 working for a local entertainment company supervising security and park police services in Ligonier, PA. In 2000, Honick became a full-time campus police officer for a large medical complex campus in Monroeville, PA. In 2002 Honick entered into Washington, DC Law Enforcement and began a journey with the Metropolitan Police, Metro Transit Police, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. During his years in DC law enforcement, Honick held a variety of assignments, which included federal task force work, specialized investigations, and a variety of supervisory patrol and investigation assignments. Honick was honored to participate in and coordinate police services for six Presidential Inaugurations, an MLB World Series, an NHL Stanley Cup Series, Several NCAA Playoff Series, and Independence Day Celebrations.

 

Outside of law enforcement duties, Honick also served with The International Teamsters Police Union as a Stewart and served as the President of the Metro Transit Police FOP Labor Committee.

 

Chief Honick has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Indiana University of PA focused in the studies of Criminology and Pre-Law. Honick is also an alumnus of the Elizabeth Forward School District.

I believe in transparency and feel it is my duty to notify residents of certain police related events within all the communities we serve - Elizabeth Township, Forward Township, Elizabeth Borough, and West Elizabeth.
