The Elizabeth Township Police Department is responsible for roadway safety in both Elizabeth and Forward Township. ETPD services a large portion of State Routes 51, 48, and 136. In addition to the state roads, the townships house a variety of Industrial Complexes. Both the roadways and industrial zones invite high volumes of commercial truck traffic. The ETPD DOT program exists to ensure monitoring of local and regional hauling and travel for roadway safety. The ETPD DOT program encourages interaction with CDL owners and operators for education, discussion, and inspection to ensure that commercial traffic is at the safest level possible for our residents and visitors alike.
